🎮 Levels of Self-Driving 🚗

From no help to full robot!

What Are the Levels?

Cars are rated from 0 to 5 based on how much they can drive themselves. Let's check them out!

🚫 Level 0 - No Automation

What it means: Regular car - you do everything!

Example: Most old cars. The driver controls everything - steering, gas, brakes.

👆 Level 1 - Driver Assistance

What it means: The car can help with ONE thing at a time

Example: Cruise control that maintains speed, or parking assist

Cars: Many cars today have this!

✌️ Level 2 - Partial Automation

What it means: Car can help with steering AND speed at the same time

Example: Tesla Autopilot, GM Super Cruise

But: You must still pay attention and be ready to take over!

🤔 Level 3 - Conditional Automation

What it means: Car can drive itself in certain situations

Example: Mercedes Drive Pilot - drives itself on highways

But: You must be ready to take over when the car asks!

🧠 Level 4 - High Automation

What it means: Car can drive itself in most places

Example: Waymo (Google's self-driving taxis) in some cities

But: Might still need a human in some situations

🚀 Level 5 - Full Automation

What it means: The car can drive ANYWHERE - no steering wheel needed!

Example: Doesn't exist yet! This is the dream.

The future: Maybe someday!

👀 Most Cars Today Are Level 2

Even though self-driving sounds amazing, most cars on the road today are Level 2. That means you STILL need to pay attention!

The car can help, but you're still the driver!
